Professional Gate Installation for Every Lehi Property
A fence without a properly built gate is an incomplete project. The gate is the point of daily interaction -- it is what you open and close every time you access your backyard, driveway, or pool area. When a gate is poorly hung, misaligned, or undersized, it becomes the most frustrating part of your fence. When it is built right, it operates so smoothly that you barely notice it. Our goal is the latter.
Gate requirements vary widely across North Utah County. A family in Saratoga Springs might need a simple vinyl walk gate to match their backyard privacy fence. A homeowner in Highland with a long driveway might need a 16-foot automated swing gate in ornamental iron. A business along the I-15 corridor might need a heavy-duty sliding gate with keypad access. A pool owner anywhere in Utah County needs a self-closing, self-latching gate that meets specific building code requirements. We handle all of these scenarios and everything in between.
The key to a gate that works well for years is starting with the right hardware and installation method. Gate posts take significantly more stress than standard fence posts because they support the weight and movement of the gate. We use heavier posts for gate installations, set them deeper in larger concrete footings, and select hinges and latches rated for the size and weight of the specific gate. For automated gates, we install commercial-grade operators with safety sensors, battery backup, and the access control system of your choice.
Gate Types We Install
- Walk Gates -- Standard 3- to 4-foot single gates for pedestrian access. Available in every fence material to match your existing fence line. The most common residential gate request across Lehi.
- Single Drive Gates -- Wider swing gates, typically 5 to 8 feet, for vehicle or equipment access. Used for side yard access, RV parking areas, and single-car entries.
- Double Drive Gates -- Two-panel swing gates that open from the center, providing openings of 10 to 20 feet. Essential for driveway access, boat and trailer storage, and properties that need wide clearance for large vehicles or equipment.
- Sliding Gates -- Track-mounted gates that slide laterally to open. Ideal for sloped driveways, tight spaces where swing gates would obstruct traffic, and commercial applications. Popular on the larger properties in Highland and Alpine.
- Cantilever Gates -- Sliding gates that operate without a ground track, making them suitable for uneven surfaces, gravel driveways, and locations where snow and debris would interfere with a track system. A smart choice for Utah County winters.
- Automated Entry Systems -- Electric gate operators with keypads, card readers, remote controls, intercom systems, and phone-based access. We install automation on swing and slide gates for both residential and commercial properties.
Pool Gates and Code Compliance
If you have a swimming pool, Utah building code imposes specific requirements on your gate. Pool enclosure gates must be self-closing, meaning they return to the latched position on their own after opening. The latch must be self-engaging and positioned at least 54 inches above grade on the outside of the gate, out of reach of young children. The gate must swing outward, away from the pool area. We install all pool gates to meet these requirements and verify compliance during our final inspection. If you have questions about pool fencing requirements, we are happy to walk you through the details during your free estimate.
